Georgia 811 eRequest

Georgia 811 eRequest is an application to apply for a single address locate request. After we gather some information from you, we will review it, determine the Member Facility owner/operators to be notified and then get back to you with pertinent information about your request. Please be aware that simply filling out the eRequest form does not mean you are ready to begin your digging project. You will be given additional information at the end of this application process and you must wait for us to get back to you with a Locate Request Number and details before you start your digging project.

Once your information is processed, you will receive an email confirmation with a locate request number and additional important information that will include a list of Member Facility owner/operators we will be notifying. We will process your request within 12 business hours (Mon – Fri) of receipt. Please remember that you are not clear to dig until the eRequest has been processed and we send a copy of your completed locate request. If our GA811 Customer Service Representative has any questions, then you will be contacted either by email or phone. If attempts to contact you are unsuccessful, then we will wait 24 hours for you to get back to us. If you do not respond within 24 hours, we will consider your request null and void. After that, you will need to your start eRequest again.

Georgia law states that you must wait until the “legal date” (the date you may legally begin your work), as provided on your eRequest, before any mechanized excavation is to take place. However, we recommend for safety’s sake that you wait for this date before beginning any digging project. Please note that the person performing the digging activity needs to be the person who submits the eRequest. If you have hired a contractor, that person will need to secure their own locate request.
