Excavator Surveys

As part of a statewide Excavator Awareness Program, Georgia 811 has sent damage prevention information via the US Postal Service to all professional excavators who have submitted locate requests between October 2022 and October 2023. To help assess and improve public awareness outreach programs, a follow-up survey will be sent to all excavators the week of November 13. Georgia 811 asks that excavators receiving the emailed survey to please respond as a contribution to damage prevention planning efforts.

 

Georgia 811 to Observe Holidays

 

Georgia 811 offices will be closed in observance of the following upcoming holidays.

 

  • Thursday, November 23, 2023, and Friday, November 24, 2023, in observance of Thanksgiving
  • Monday, December 25, 2023, and Tuesday, December 26, 2023, in observance of the Christmas holiday
  • Monday, January 1, 2024, in observance of New Year’s Day

 

During this time the contact center will be accepting locate requests for damages and emergencies only. Please plan your work accordingly.

Success of Georgia 811 Summits

Thank you to all stakeholders who attended one of Georgia 811’s Damage Prevention Summits this Fall. Between the Tifton and Duluth events, there were 18 sponsors and over 400 attendees. Plans are already underway for the 2024 Fall Summits. We look forward to your continued participation!

 

Utility Owner/Operator Info – Monthly Standard Reports

All billing information for Georgia 811 members is now available through the Thoughtspot platform. Access and training information for Thoughtspot is available on the Member Reporting – Thoughtspot page at Georgia811.com. Throughout the month of November, Georgia 811 members will receive email correspondence from the Customer Connections Department detailing the end of Monthly Standard Reports on January 1, 2024, and the transition to Thoughtspot.

 

Are Georgia 811 Systems Working?

Should Georgia 811 systems experience downtime that prohibits ticket creation or activity for more than just a few minutes, the Georgia 811 homepage will display a “System Downtime” icon on both personal computers and mobile devices. Clicking on the icon will take stakeholders to a news article detailing the situation. Additionally, all Georgia 811 news items can be found at Latest News under the Resources tab at Georgia811.com.
